Raimonds was born in a small town by the Baltic sea. As a child, he dreamed of achieving big goals, even if at that age he was not always quite certain what those goals were. His parents wanted him to be a musician, while Raimonds was very keen on sports. After secondary school, he tried his hand at studying foreign languages but ended up working as a waiter in the best restaurant in the Baltics called Vincents, where Raimonds found his true life passion: wine, hospitality and fine dining. Full of ambition, he competed in several international sommelier competitions while studying at the Austrian Wine Academy and gaining a WSET Diploma in wine and spirits.
Determination, focus, ambitious goals and extremely hard work have helped Raimonds fulfill his dream of putting Latvia on the international wine map! Raimonds has a genuine experience, appreciation and respect for wine which he has gathered through extensive travel around the world, recognizing the hard work behind each and every bottle!
He enjoys sharing his experience and respect for wine with wine lovers everywhere in an attractive, approachable and entertaining format. Raimonds loves everything related to wine and food, but what attracts him the most is the dynamic work of a sommelier in a restaurant and taking care of guests, finding the most challenging wine and food combinations, telling exciting wine stories and helping people understand that wine is all about pleasure and positive experiences.
